Review:

The 2XU Core Compression Short Sleeve is my favourite compression shirt. It offers great comfort while maintaining high compression, durability and breathability. The shirt fits nice and tight, including areas like the armpits, lower back and waist which I thought may feel a little loose. The knitted material maximised compression throughout the whole shirt while maintaining comfort. It felt nice on the skin while also mounded to your body which helped avoid over-compression in certain areas. There are breathable mesh vents placed strategically under the armpits and down the centre of the back which offered great airflow in important sections where sweat tends to build up. I found that this helped a lot in maintaining a good overall body temperature. The highly breathable nature allows me to wear this in both warm and cool conditions, so I've used it in both Australia and Europe and was very pleased with it. The low cut neck, also present in the Long Sleeve, sits perfectly below the base of the neck to ensure that there is no rubbing when rotating your head.

I have had this shirt for 4 years now and it hasn't shown any signs of losing its compression or deteriorating. Through sweaty sessions and many machine washes the shirt has held its elasticity very well. As it is short sleeve there are no points that will make contract with the floor which ensures that there is no chance of small holes appearing. I had some issues with the bottom of the Long Sleeve shirt lifting when I played the ball overhead. This issue didn't appear at all while wearing the short sleeve. I think this shirt is better suited to my body shape and I do prefer the short sleeves so I tend to wear it more.

The short sleeve compression shirt comes in XS to XXL and fits true to the size guide. The shape and fit doesn't change over time with multiple washes either, which is great. I found that the profile of the shirt is perfectly suited to my body so there is good compression provided throughout. Overall, this is a highly comfortable and effective product that has been carefully designed to give the athlete quality compression perfect for assisting performance.

My Verdict: The short sleeve fit was perfect, providing maximum comfort without the risk of overheating. The classic 2XU material, as always, made for a great compression and breathability combination. What I liked most about this garment was the tight fit throughout, making sure that I didn't need to constantly readjust.

Value: $80 AUD - Reasonable price for a quality garment that will last many years!
