Review:

The Triggerpoint Grid Foam Roller is the best roller on the market. This roller nails the balance between a rigid feel and still having some padding so that it is optimum for recovery. It has different patterning throughout, which allows some sections of the roller to be used better for specific sore spots and other sections for more general soreness. Some rollers I have used have been way too hard - to the point where it hurts the muscle - and others have been extremely soft where I don't feel it's helping release the muscle. This roller I believe is just right - it is able to release tight section and roll out generally sore areas, removing some lactic acid and waste products in the muscles after strenuous sessions. This provides great relief from a range of different aches and pains. The only issue I found when using this roller is that sometimes the different patterning of the EVA foam can cause the roller to stop-start a little on its uneven surface when rolling out larger sections such as the back and thighs.

Some of the rollers with a plastic hollow tube inside tend to crack after many uses but this roller has never lost its structure. The plastic tube used is very rigid ensuring it will last for many years. The EVA foam is firm allowing it to maintain its shape and not tear at all over the years I have used it. I believe this is one of the most durable rollers on the market while still providing amazing recovery.

A roller is a simple recovery product and all you need is for it to be durable, have good feel to the muscle and be well made. This roller has been carefully designed to provide all 3 of these key points. This is why I believe it is the best roller on the market and is great value for money.

My verdict: With thousands of warm ups, cool downs and recovery sessions in my career, I wouldn't choose any other roller! I've used this foam roller almost every day for most of my career and it hasn't needed replacing. The firm padding offers great massage for tight spots in the muscles making me feel good as new for the next session.

Value: $65 AUD - Great price for a top of the range product that will last years!
